Training Course:

God, Sex and Ministry:  Developing a Healthy Dialogue

God, Sex and Ministry is a training course that explores the practical connections between sexuality, theology and church ministry. It seeks to equip seminary trained clergy leaders with tools and resources to comfortably and confidently talk about sexuality and faith in their ministry context.

 Training Course Aims

  • Ask

    This course asks three questions:

    1. What do I personally believe about human sexuality?

    2. How do I make connections to faith and sexuality as a pastor/clergy leader?

    3. What resources can I access to help shape my preaching, teaching and guiding?

  • Learn

    This course will…

    1. Increase the knowledge of human sexuality matters across the lifespan.

    2. Engage in open-honest dialogue about opportunities, obstacles and connections in supporting the sexual-spiritual wholeness of faith communities.

    3. Identify practical ways for incorporating sexuality topics through teaching, preaching and guiding.

    4. Develop a practical project to be implemented in ministry context.

  • Engage

    This course invites people to…

    1. Think critically on the interconnectedness of sex and faith both personally and communally

    2. Reflect theologically on how to hold conversations about sexuality with community members.

    3. Expand knowledge of relevant human sexuality matters within diverse communities.
